A.M. ,. . ' Campus In Brief Plans for the construction of the Betsy Barbour dormitory which was to have been started this spring have beer, abandoned for the, present. Designs for an entire industrial village, made by the students of the architectural college, are to be shown at the Housing exhibition at Kalan- azoo, April 10. This collection of designs is loaned at the invitation of City Manager Freeman, of Kalamazoo, following their success when displayed in Ni- agara Falls last year under the au- spices of the Nigara Falls chamber of commerce. Officers for the Wesleyan Guild of the First Methodist church have been nominated by the committee in charge and the elections will be held at a special business meeting, Friday, April 18, in the church parlors. The nominations are as follows: Earl W. Dunn, '20; Robert W. Kneebone, '21, for president; Helen E. Mummery, '2ts; lovisa A. Youngs, '21, for vice-presi- dent; Annabele A. Adriance, 20; Esther Hood, Sch. of M., for secretary; Emory T. Toogood, '20E; George A. Stimson, '20, for treasurer. The spring class of nurses entered their probation in the training school of the Homoeopathic hospital this week. The class is under the direc- tion of Mrs. Genevieve Bead. For students who will remain in Ann Arbor during the spring vacation the University Y. M. C. A. is planning entertainment, to take the form of parties and the regular bi-weekly pic- ture shows. Pictures for the week end and next week will be as follows: Saturday, April 5, "Sally in Our Alley;" Tuesday, April 8, Edith Roberts in "Beans;" Saturday, April 12, Dorothy Gish in "The Hun Within." All parties scheduled will be an- nounced on the bulletin board in front of the "Y." Statistics prepared by the employ- ment secretary of the University Y. M. C. A. indicate that 199 nien were given work during the past month. Of these, 42 were furnished board jobs. Applications numbered 151. The puppets are two feet high and are manipulated by from 12 to 25 strings each; at times it is nec- essary for two persons to operate one puppet. The puppets and scenic effects have all been designed by Mr. Sarg him- self and executed in his studio. ENSIGN SIMPSON, EX=18, HURT IN PLANE ACCIDENT Ensign Jess Ray Simpson, ex-'18, was seriously injured Tuesday when the seaplane which he was piloting collided in mid air with another plane at an altitude of 200 feet over Santa Rosa Island near Pensacola, Fla. The two men in the other plane and Simp- son's companion were instantly kill- ed, but Simpson survived the collision with no bones broken. Acting as instructor, Simpson was daily expecting his discharge. Al- though he crashed to the ground amid the wreckage of the two planes, Simp- son suffered only slight injuries, and according to latest reports is stead- ily improving. - NEW ENGLAND CLUB FORMED AT MEETING IN LANE HALL Work will begin at once on the drafting of a constitution for the New England club. At the meeting Wed- nesday evening in Lane hall, a com- mittee of three men was appointed to take charge of the work. Following the lead of some of the sectional clubs already organized, the New England club will have for its purpose the advertising of Michigan in its local high schools. At the next meeting, to be held aft- er spring vacation, officers will be elected, and the tentative constitution submitted to the club for ias approval.
