Columbia-A large consignment o

ceived at the R. 0. T. C. headquarters,
they are official war department pic-
tures, including instructional subjects
of all kinds and also actual battle
scenes.
Indiana-Plans for raising money to
pay for the new county hospital, which
is to be dedicated as a memorial to
the sodliers, were. discussed here.
Chicago-Women of the university
held a mass meeting to form a new'
organization the aim of which is to
unite all women of the university in
a common organization which shall
develop the ideals of a well balanced
life. It will consist of three..councils,
an executive, and advisory and - a gen-
eral council.
Texas-- Texas has installed as a
regular course the temporary course
introduced in all the universities as
War Aims.
Oklahoma- Student standards are
to be investigated here by a commis-
sion appointed to "consider the trend
of student thought and ideals to de-
termine the problems the university
is facing, and to state frankly but suc-

Nevada-Here, as well as at Johns
Hopkins University the National In-
dustrial board is offering a prize of
$1,000 for the best essay on labor
questions. A series of eight topics
has been presented, and the appiicant
is allowed to take his choice.
Johns Hopkins-Two Johns Hopkins
men are to explore the Andes, study-
ing the coal fields of Chile, making
geolical investigations, and also look-
ing into the neglected commercial,
scientific and educational opportuni-
ties in South America.
Utah-University of Utah has been
suggested as the site for a state mem-
orial hall, honoring its soldier sons.
It will be used as a combined student
union building and general public as-
sembly hall.
Purdue-The memorial commit .ee
of Purdue university has offered a
plan for a memorial theater to be built
in honor of the men who were killed
in the war. By issuing shares of
stock enough money could be raised,
they believe, to erect a theater for
about $125,000.
Iah-Freshmen at the University
of Utah have ordered their caps which
are to be of a dark green with light
colored stripes.
Northwestern-The anarchistic tend-
encies of the freshmen and sopho-
mores at Northwestern have been
crushed, and they have resigned them-
selves to their fate of a prescribed
course in military science and tactics.
Several weeks ago, more than 100
students decided they would not be
compelled to take military training
with their college courses, but resolu-
tions have been passed and the men
are back in the ranks, more than 300
of them in all, enrolled in the R. 0.
T. C.
Utah--"A Bigger and Better Prom,"
is the slogan of the prom committee
at Utah. The entrance fee will come
to four dollars, and uniforms will be
in order, it has been decided. The
date has been set for March 28.
At its presentation in Port Huron,
"Fit to Win," which comes to the
Orpheum theater Tuesday and Wed-
nesday, was endorsed at a private per-
formance, and has been given the
whole-hearted support of the surgeon
general's office, as a means of propa-
gating the fight against disease. It
was used extensively during the war
in the army camps.
Matinee performances will be for
women, and evening performances for
men.

Miss Norinanid gaily dashes through
a series of frenzied escapades- slid-
ing down balustrades and off roofs,
dancing on the fuiniture, and finally
disguising herself as a jockey and
saving the race and her lover's
money. All this is sufficient to keep
the audience in a lively mood quite
ready to overlook any deficiencies of
plot.
Mickey is sent from her primitive
home in the west to live with wealthy
relatives in the east, who accept her
only because they see financial relief
in her supposed gold mine. She re-
wards them by capturing the fliance
of her uideserving cousin after she
and her Indian nurse of astonishing
proportions havle literally wrecked the
aristocratic household.
The added feature shows natives of
some of the Fiji Islands in their
characteristic dances including fire-
walking. The program will continue
for today and Bryant Washburn will
be shown tomorrow in "The Gipsy
Trail."
