As a lovable, harum-scarum little tomboy Mickey is always finding her- self in real, live scrapes with dash- ing adventure and reality. - She makes you laugh and cry. Whether with old Joe in the mountain mining district or with he; aunt in the city, she produces a long range of emotions and interests. Adventure, with thrills of the hair's breadth type; love of the deep, heart- felt appeal that holds and facinates; humor, the spontaeous kind that makes one laugh In spite of oneself; pathos with gripping and pathetic, but not overdrawn, incidents from human life -are all there-in this picture su- preme. Mabel Normad as Mickey digs a deep hole in the heart of everyone who sees her, where her charm will linger and live forever. AT T.CIE WHITNEY An old ladies home on the coast of New England is the quaint setting for the unique comedyhof "Old Lady 31," to be sho*4 at the Whitney theater, Saturday, March 15. The piece is a daring comedy by Rachael C rothers which has been as- sured a success time after time in its long runs in New York, Boston and Chicago. As Mary, the chaming daughter of one of the governors, Hazel Sexton calls into play her prettiness, charm, and above all, her youth which is a delightful contrast to the quaint and set old people of the institution. A gruff old sea captain who is the pet and storm of the ladies home offers humor that will not soon be forgotten. AT THE ARCADE Geraldine Farrar's new appearance in "Shadows" at the Arcade theater, Sunday and Monday, is not only a tri- umph in plot and productionbut also presents the famed artist in the latest of gowns and creations. Her tirst appearance in a new pic- ture brings as much expectation from a fashion standpoint as a new role in an opera. She first appears in a costume of cloth of gold trimmed in ostrich feath- ers of blue and crimson The Alaskan episode brings new gowns and new wonders of draping. It is a cerise chiffon velvet with lavish grape orna- mentations. These original and novel costumes act as an aid to Miss Fabrar's excellent acting and personality. AT THE WUERT As a charming artist's model Evelyn Nesbit plays a distinctive role in "The Woman Who Gave," which is to be shown at the Wuerth theater, Sunday and Monday. The picture takes place in that retreathof artists and students -the latin quarter of laris. She is a model for a crippled American artist who is painting her for his master- piece. A Bulgarian prince sees it before it is finished and falls a victim of the beauty of, the model. She marries the prince. Through grief, the artist loses his sight and returns to America. A son is born but only increases the unhappi'ess of the princess, as her hubknd hates his child In despera- tion she flees to the blind artist who gives his life to secure the happiness of his model and her son.
