UNIVERSITY FORESTRY FARM RENAMED "SAGINAW FOREST" The name of the University of Michigan forestry farm has been changed to Saginaw Forest according to Prof. Leigh J. Young of the for- estry department. This change was recently made by the Board of Re- gents owing to the fact that Mr. Ar- thur Hill of Saginaw bequeathed the land to the University. Experimental work is carried on by the classes in forestry on this land under the supervision of the forestry department. Good results have been attained as is shown by data com- piled, comparing the growth of trees grown by scientific methods with trees which receive little or no attention. CHICAGO BISHOP WILL SPEAK IN MARTIN LOUD LECTURES Thomas Nicholson, bishop of the Chicago area of the Methodist Episco- pal church, will speak at 7:30 o'clock Sunday, Feb. 23, at the First Meth- odist church in the Martin Loud lec- ture series given under the auspices of the Wesleyan Guild. The subject of Bishop Nicholson's talk will be "The Church in the Life of the Na- tion." Acquaint Women with Wine Clause Mr. N. C. Fetter of the University Y. M. ;C. A. board has charge of the organization of the dry forces of Washtenaw and Jackson counties. It is their aim to urge the women to register and to acquaint them with the nature of the "Beer and Wine amendment." They hope in that way to again carry the day at the next elections.
