Germany, it is now known, was much concerned over the arrange- ments the United States government was making to back up the troops it had in Europe. The problem of sup- porting the United States army in a foreign clime was one the Germans thought even the brains of Uncle Sam could not overcome. But it was over- come and the American forces were backed up by ammunition trains, food supplies, guns, etc., from the very start. It is this feature of America's doings in France that forms the chief fea- ture of "America's Answer." It shows the remarkable military machinery by which the troops were augmented from the time they left the New York harbor, convoyed across by battle- ships, until they reached the front line trenches. "America's Answer" shows the re- markable railroad yards, docks, am- munition houses, gun factories and other plants built by the United States to back up its army on the soil of France, as well as an actual scene of a daylight raid on the Boches just before the armistice was signed. As was the case with "Pershing's Crusaders" and all other films shown by the War Preparedness board, the profits go to the dependents' fund for Michigan men in the service.
