Sim- mons announced that his leg is not in the best of shape yet, but he thought that he would be able to test it out Saturday without further in- juring the ailing member.fSaturday will see the first appearance of they high jumper in this season's outdoor competition. "Vic" injured the mus- cles of his leg; the second day of out- door practice, and has done practical- ly no leaping since. Farrell lost one of his best men for the season on Tuesday when Cor- bin pulled a tendon during his daily workout. The injury is in the same place as the old one, and there seems to be no chance of "'Cec" getting him- self back into shape in time for the intercollegiates. His loss will un- doubtedly rob the coach of come points in the meet with the western- ers on Saturday, as Corbin has the uncanny faculty of "coming through" when least expected. \ The Stanford team of 12 athletes, acompanied by Coach "Dad" Moulton, E. C. Behrens, manager, and John Reynolds, student trainer, left Palo Alto Tuesday night for Ann Arbor. The party is expected. to arrive in Ann Arbor some time Friday after- noon or evening.: Choose Committee for Union Dance The following men have been chosen to act as the committee in charge of this week's Union dance: T. PONTIUS COULDN'T COME OUT So Kennedy ..Took Charge of the Squad; Pleased With Spirit Dine coach Pontius phoned from Detroit atathe last, minute yesterday that he would be unable to get over for the day's session on Ferry field. In his absence assistant coach Ken- nedy put the men through a hard .grilling. Scrimmage work for the line men, emphasis being laid on the use of their hands, and running with the ball and kicking for the backs constituted the afternoon's work. The use of the charging machine featured the session. Kennedy said at the close of prac- tice that the men are showing a great improvement in spirit and are get- ting down to real solid work. A PLACE OF DISTINCTIVE SERVICE HOSPICE" They instantly whiffed ether, carbolic acid and iodoform gauze. Quite true we do re- store jaded appetites and build up much abused digestions with good food, properly pre- pared, but you don't find that in the name. That is why I have to tell you that we serve tbe best meals in Ann Arbor. 4
