Evening Splendid playing marked the ap- pearance of the Varsity band at the game on Ferry Field yesterday af- ternoon. It was the first appearance of the season for the musicians, and they showed in a notable manner the results of painstaking direction and leadership under Captain Wilson. The bandmen have been practising religiously and will soon have an en- tirely new repertoire with which to regale the fans between the innings. A special section of the grandstand has been set aside for the band's use, and at the game Saturday they will occupy a more central position in the festivities. The next rehearsal will take place Wednesday evening at 7:00 in the au- ditorium of University hall. After the practice a new faculty adviser will be elected to take the place of Mr. S. J.
