is unique and original as far as msi-'
cal plays go, inasmuch as it really
has something of a story to start
with which is told. without resort to
vulgarity and is actually funny. Then;
again the music is of the kind that'
lingers in your memory and you find
yourself whistling. The dancing is;
both fascinating and unique and there
is lots of it, and then there are the
girls, all distinct types of American
and foreign beauty, who sing and dance
more than ordinarily well, and can
act, too--if you are not too particular.

WRITES ABOUT WOMEN
J. A. II. EXPRESSES OPINION ON
STANDS TAKEN BYG ARGOYLE
AND CRITIC.
Editor, The Michigan Daily:
Since everyone writes about the
women these days, I do not wish to
be outdone. And,'confidentially, there
may be an impelling motive which has
driven me on, causing me to jump to
the rescue of the deadlier sex, which
has been manhandled most ruthlessly
these last few weeks. If the Gargoyle
considers the women to be the decided-
ly weak element on the campus, why
does it persist. in picking on them?
With that idea uppermost in my mind,
I will attempt to support the communi-
cation of the man who is, in short,
unlimitedly unprominent, and try to ar-
rive at a proper adjudication of the
matter -that has stirred the college
world of late. Fore!
In the first communication it was
stated that the reason women did not
partake to a greater extent in the
college affairs was becausetheir ef-
forts were not well received. The rea-
son they do not participate is because
they participate in some things that
they should not participate in-and
because of the fact of their par-
ticipation they do not participate
because their participation would be
thrust in the odious light that non-
participation would remove - hence
their participation would be bettered
because of the fact of the removal
therefrom. With that matter settled,
we miay proceed.
As I understand it, the women were
not requested by The Daily to edit the
Pit. The editor of that column issued
an invitation to them to furnish one
column. That, however, is only a
minor matter, and has little bearing
on the discussion in hand.
And then-and then-"gentlemanli-
ness and prominence do not go hand
in hand"-hence the prominent men
do not fuss the ladies. Far be it from
me to becloud the issue, but I would
simply like to determine whether it
is necessary for gentlemanliness to
be- gained by seeing the women? It
is? Well--let's proceed. They then.
go and see the Ypsi women. But
that does not make them gentlemen.
They must see the women in Ann Ar-
bor to gain the required end. The
reason is, that women of Ann Arbor
have a certain air of humility gained
through long years of oppression that
tends as a soothing influence on the
savage Prominent. And it costs thir-
ty cents a week to be prominent!
To refer to Mr. John's qpmmunica-
tion-the reason I offer this settle-
ment is because of the fact that the
latter offers the former the chance
to talk the matter over in private-
but I prefer a peaceful conclusion to
the matter. But "why has it devolved
upon one of the male sex to spring
to the defense of the female?" That
practice started just two years before
the idea gained prominence that the
female was to be abused, n*ltreated,
cursed, and maligned by the male.
"Does he feel called upon to act as
their mouthpiece?" Mr. John honors
the male with a surprising amount of
diligence.
In conclusion and final adjudication
of the matter, allow me to state that
I am heartily in favor of the proposi-
tion that the Michigan Union Boat
club build a boathouse-before stu-
dents will be required to tie their
canoes to the bank.

and keeps a clear brain and supple, elastic muscles
ready for the combat in class room or athletic field.
Shredded Wheat contains all the nutritive material
in the whole wheat grain and its daily use keeps the
stomach sweet and clean and the bowels healthy
and active. It is the favorite food of men and women
who do things with hand or brain. It is on the train-
ing table of nearly every college and university in the
United States and Canada. Deliciously satisfying and
sustaining when served with milk or cream, or in com-
bination with fresh fruits. It contains more real nutri-
ment than meat or eggs and costs much less.
