Contrary to the usual elimination contests, the game of last night settled decisively the championship title, for both teams had an equal number of forfeit games to their credit, and ac- cording to critics' of the game, they were by far the most evenly matched teams in the league. At the end of the first half, the score stood 16-12 in fav- or of the lits, though the architects seemed confident of "coming back" in the traditional style in the second period, but the long practice sessions the lits have been holding of late stood to their credit. McClintock, of the winning five, starred with a total in- dividual score of 13 points, and Hic- key, the fast architect captain proved the stellar unit of his team, netting a total of 10 points. Last night's game proved the cleanest contest of the year, a smaller number of personal fouls being awarded than in any pre- ceeding game. Both the championship team and the runner-up will receive athletic association numerals as awards for the brand of play they have displayed this year, and the other two teams re- maining in the big four, the foresters and the soph lits, will receive numer- als from their classes. Nothing along strenuous lines was attempted, the men content- ing themselves with getting acquainted. with the sphere and their racquets. This is earlier than the team has been able to get out in any previous year. Regular practice will begin I after the spring vacation, in prepara- tion for the annual eastern trip, which, is slated to start May 13, although the schedute has not been officially an- nounced. Syracuse Society Invites All-Stars Syracuse, N. Y., Mar. 31.-Theta Tau Upsilon, a senior society which has charge of the athletic dinner which is to be held April 15, is sending out let- ters to the eleven members of Walter Camp's All-American football team, inviting them to attend the dinner as guests of honor. Princeton Wrestlers Elect Captain Princeton, N. J., Mar. 31.-J. B. Wiss has been elected captain of the Prince- ton wrestling team by unanimous vote of the members 'of the team, managers and coa'.h. Wiss wrestles in the 115- pound class and has been a consistent point winner all season. Although conditions were far from "mid-season," the, Michigan baseball. squad nevertheless went through the first outdoor practice of the season on, south Ferry Field yesterday afternoon. The ground was soggy and heavy, and consequently the team was slowed down appreciably. The bigger part of the workout was spent in bat- ting practice, although the coach con- cluded with a fielding drill. The balls became wet soon after going into use and were heavy, thus making throw- ing difficult. Several of the members of the team were hitting the ball right on the nose, Harley Warner cracking a couple of pretty safeties, while Brandell, "Bill" Niemann and Newell all contributed a couple of lusty wallops. Bits of loose fielding were in evi- dence, but in view of the conditions and the fact that it was the first day outside, things moved fairly satisfac- torily. The outfielders had a real workout for the first time this year. Coach Lundgren stated yesterday that today's practice would start at 2:00 o'clock instead of at 3:00 o'clock as will be the case on week days. The ground should be in better shape this afternoon with the additional day's time to dry, while by Monday it should be in fairly presentable condition. WRESTLING SEMI-FINALS TO. BEGIN WITH DAY'S MATCHES Semi-finals in the campus wrestling tournament will begin at 3:00 o'clock this afternoon, when Planck and Beach will put on the curtain raiser of the afternoon's program in Waterman gym. Each bout will be a 10-minute affair, as will Tuesday's matches, which will complete the semi-finals. The following men will compete to- day: Planck vs. Beach; AmtsbuechlerJ vs. Wacksman; Baker vs. Whitlow. Where Endurance Counts Many races are decided at the home stretch.
