Lauder at the Whitney
Harry Lauder, the famous Scotch
comedian, who comes to the Whitney
theatre, Wednesday, April 5, can guage
his working time by minutes in the
week. He works only six days a
week-for no price will he consent to
give a performance on Sunday-and in
those six days, with two performances
a day, he is on the stage for four hun-
dred and eighty minutes. With his
salary as a basis, it works out that
his earning capacity is, $1:41 2-3 a
minute. The average man's wage is
$1.16 1-2 a day, according to statistics.
"Bunker Bean" Next Week
At the Whitney theater, Thursday,
April 6, Mr. Joseph Brooks will pre-
sent a new star in Taylor Holmes,
who has in the past few years done
excellent Vork and gained a wide
popularity. Mr. Holmes will appear
in the new comedy entitled "His Ma-
jesty Bunker Bean." The play was
constructed from Harry Leon Wilson's
story of like title published in the Sat-
urday Evening Post. It is rather a
satirical treatise on the control of
