Knox, of Cleveiand, who is known as the "Verbal ,oh'ano," and who is lbead of the Knox school of Salesmanship, will speak here at 7:25 o'clcek tomorrow evening in New- berry hall. Mr. Knox has written a number of books on salesmanship, business effi- ciency, and personal efficiency, which are used all over the Unnted States and also in Canada and Japan. Arbeiter Verein Women Hold Bazaar At a meeting of the ladies' auxil- iary of the Ann Arbor Arbeiter Verein held March 24, committees were ap- pointed for a bazaar to be given for the benefit of the widows and children of fallen German and Austro-Hungar- ian soldiers. The next meeting in the interest of this bazaar will take place at 2:00 o'clock on the afternoon of April 14 in the Schwaben hall, 213 South Ashley street. Anyone inter- ested may attend. Promises $1,000 for Aid of Missionary Hospital in Arabfi At a recent meeting of the Busrah workers several details of the coming annual campaign were decided upon. The campaign will start April 23, and end April 26. During this time the committee will attempt to raise $3,650 among the students of Michigan for the support of a hospital at Bus- rah. Arabia, and of three Michigan graduates: a doctor. his wife and one nuarse. The women of the Y. W. C. A. have promised to raise $1,000 of this sum. They will canvass the two university hospitals and tne faculty. It will be brought here by Joseph Abraham, of Freder-1 ick Stearns & Co., of Detroit, who will lecture on "The Manufacture of Toilet Soaps," Wednesday, April 5. Because of the great weight of the apparatus with which Mr. Abraham! will illustrate his talk, a truck will h ve to be requisitioned to bring it to Ann Arbor. The apparatus is elec- trically driven. The lecture, which is given under the auspices of the Prescott club of the College of Pharmacy, will be given at 4:15 o'clock in the afternoon in room 165 of the chemistry building. Catlin, editorial writer for the Detroit News who lectures here Friday. It is a common feat for Mr. Catlin to dash off at a moment's notice, a pointed, half-column editorial on al- most any subject imaginable. He has- written much during the past year upon certain complex situations brought about by the present war. Mr. Catlin will speak upon the sub- ject, "Editorial Writing" before the classes in journalism, in room 202 West Hall at 4:00 o'clock Friday af- ternoon., The general public is cor- dially invited to attend. Miss Clara Sargeant, '15, an interne in the Woman's Memorial hospital in Boston, has been invited by the uni- versity Y. W. C. A. to assist in the campaign work. Paul D. Harrison will also speak during the campaign and is to assist in the canvassing work. A complete system of advertising for the campaign has been worked out. Posters relating to the work will be distributed over the campus and four full page advertisements will be run in the Michigan Daily during the week of canvassing. Daily advertisements are to be paid for by 16 local mer- chants. The biggest advertising feature will be a large ladder situated at the cor- ner of State street and North Univer- sity avenue, the ascent of which, by the figure of an Arabian man, will mark the increase in size of the bud- get during the four days of the cam- paign. Miss Ethel Vail, '17, was the originator of the ladder feature. The campaign committee, of which John Kneebone, grad., is the general chairman, will consist of 250 men and 100 women.
