be rt Kenyon, ins his lecture on "Span-
ish Ballads" yesterday afternoon in
,-ivers ity hall, under the auspices
of the Spaish facuilty and the Latin-
American club.
Professor Kenyon traced the devel-
opmfent of the ballad from the old
Spanish epics of events down to the
modern formh, in which it is of a Idra-
matic (-haracter. There are about
0,0008 of these ballads, and the pro-
fessor gave selections from those rep-
resentative of various periodls to (dem-
onstrate their change in form.
