Te-en of Case Scientific School has con-
tributed an interesting article to the
bulletin of the Society for the Promo-
tion of Engineering Education on the
"Development of Engineering Words."
The article shows tihe development of
words coined to fit inventions, their
use and mjsuse, and a commentary
of their probable future.
IDeath Not Caused by Class Scrap
fUrbana, Il., Feb. 26.-In a letter to
Dean Babcock, of the University of
Illinois, the physician who attended
Jesse L. Blake, a freshman of that
university, declared that his death was
not a result of the injuries sustained
in the annual class scrap, as was sup-
posed, but to a congestion of the
lungs, followed by acute pneumonia.

Philadelphia, Pa., Feb. 26.-Directors
of the gymnasium at the University of
Pennsylvania are troubled by small
boys who persist in begging from stu-
dents entering and leaving the build-
ings. It is said that quite large sums
have been secured by the children
in begging alms in this manner.

Chicago, Feb. 26.-Announcement of
a $200,000 gift to the University for
the purpose of erecting a new build-
ing for the Divinity school was made

The name of the donor is being with-
held at present. The rapid develop-
nment of the Divinity school during the
last few years had made the erection
of such a building necessary.
Columbia to Have Business School
Columbia, Feb. 26.-At the regular
February meeting of the truseees, a
revised addition to the statutes of the
university was adopted which provided
for a new school of business.
