What college men who are enlisted
in the ambulance corps of the French
army are doing to relieve the suffer-
ing of the soldiers from their wounds
is given in a talk by Dr. R. B.,Green-
nough of Harvard at a meeting at the
Harvard Union, November 11. In
speaking of the deaths received while
fighting on the battle front, he states
that now for the first time in history
pnen are dying not from disease but
from wounds. The work o, the am-
bulance corps is largely responsible
for this because through their work
the wounded soldiers are cared for
before infections can set in. Two
Harvard men are in charge of the am-
bulance squads in the Alsace district,
Richard Norton and D. L. McGrew.
When frenzied football fanatics can
stop their cheering long enough in
the halves of the most important
game of the season to give over $11,432
to the work of the Ambulance corps in
far off France, Michigantmen should
not be far behind. That we have
plenty of interest in foreign affairs is
demonstrated that every year we send
foreign representatives to aid in mis-
sion work. The idea of the sending of
money or supplies to aids France in
the middle of winter is a great one
or it would not have been approved
by some of the most influential men in
eastern colleges.
It is not only a question of money,
but it is a question of organization of
the facilities on the campus for work
of this kind. If men who are inter-
ested in such work will signify their
interest there is no reason why Michi-
gan cannot be backed by the entire
student body in this project.

Names of new men have been com-

of other Thanksgiving engagements,
a number of new groups will be
formed.
