Along with this year's policy of
making a more general appeal to the
'campus in the presentation of its an-
nual play, the club is planning the
staging of a vaudeville show later in
the year. Who will take part in this
production will be determined largely
by the showing of the players in "Stop
Thief."
The club is also in receipt of a play
written by Leon M. Cunningham, '16,
which will be placed under consid-
eration and presented at some time
later in the year if found acceptable.
FRESH PRESENT STYLE REVUE
Several Startling Revelations in Un-
dergarments Exhibited
"Hep, hep, hep, lively there, frosh."
A crowd of 15'0 sophomores with
half a dozen lowly men of 1919 in tow
filed down Liberty street last night,
the first evidence of underclass strife
this year. The yearlings were devoid
of trousers, and had nothing but short
track pants to protect their limbs
from the cruel winds and the eyes of
curious onlookers. They still wore
their socks, which were supported byl
garters of every hue except green.
After parading through the princi-
pal streets of Ann Arbor and reciting
songs and yells to the sophomores'
content, the first year men were al-
lowed to disband.

Choral Union Tryouts Begin Thuirsday
Prof. A. A. Stanley will meet all
desiring to enter the Choral Union at,
the school of music from 1 o'clock to
2 o'clock and 4 o'clock to 5 o'clock
on any day except Saturday, October
8 to 15. The Choral Union is a chorus
of 300 voices which participates in
concerts and in the May Festival, and
is open to all vocalists. Former mem-
bers need only register at the school
c music.

ular three-act musical comedy, opensl
this evening the bill for the last half
oi the week, with a cast of vaudeville
stars and snappy chorus numbering
20 in all.
Interspersed with a number of
catchy songs like, "Hero Mine," and
"Flirt, Flirt, Flirt," the plot carries
the action from the unromantic re-
hearsal-stage of a playhouse through
a tropical Cuban garden, to a romantic
castle of a "Night of Knights" and
leaves the audience to journey back
to the 20th century in Ann Arbor.

UNION ANNUAL 3IEMBERSHIP
}'IGURES NEARING 1,500 TOTAL
360 Life Memberships Help Smash
Past Records; House-to-House
Invmsion Soon
Membership compaigners for the
Michigan Union took a slight brace
during the past 24 hours and boosted
the totals slightly over the 1,450
nark. This nunber is still somewhat
=tlort of the record at the same date
ast year, but counting the 300 life
:nemberships which have begun to
-nature, this fall's figure smashes all
>revious records.
Plans for the house-to-house cam-
paigning are now well under way, and,:
according to arry G. Gault, '15-'17L,
'he committeemen will be selected
within several days. The men choseni
,ill begin an invasion including two
,light attacks, of every rooming house
.nd fraternity in the city. The tenta-
.ive date set for this movement is
within two weeks.
For the present, D. R. Ballentine,
.16, in charge of the membership
work, is instructing men to center
:neir efforts upon the campus. The
apparent laxness in the efforts of the
campaigners is partly explained, ac-
;ording to those in charge, by the fact
;tiat hundreds of men are wavering
between signing for a yearly member-
ihip and the starting of a life mem-
5ership.
