The session which will now be held every Tuesday and Fri- day promises to be the most important of the present administration. It was stated the meeting today was not due to any crisis rising out of the sinking of the Ancona. Owing to the fact that reports on the Ancona thus far have been so conflicting, the ad- ministration is without definite knowl- edge of the disaster. The incident was not discussed at the cabinet meeting. The probable subject taken up was how to raise the money to carry out the defense plan. No definite conclu- sion was reached. The subject will be considered further at the confer- ences between the president and Dem- ocratic leaders of the house and senate. The council was un- able to conclude the 'affair, and after an extended session let it be known that an entire week, and perhaps more time, will be consumed before the real status of affairs can be ascertained, owing to an unanticipated delay in the gathering of evidence to condemn or vindicate Galvin on part of Wiscon- sin's delegated authorities at the ath- lete's home at Glendive, Mont. Until the matter can be thoroughly probed and a conclusion reached Gal- vin will not be an active member of the Cardinal football squad. As to the other athletes against whomquestions have been raised, the athletic council declared that both Gardner and George Simpson have clean eligibility slates.
