May, a '14 graduate of the Ore- gon Agricultural College. and one of the force of coaches which the Oregon Aggies brought back with them to help beat M. A. C., stopped at Ann Arbor long enough to see the Syracuse game yesterday. With the material gathered from observing Syracuse s general style of play, he hopes to better the western team's chances in their game with Syracuse on December 1. He was jubilant over his team's 20- victory over M. A. C. "To tell the truth," he said, "I didn't look for any such score. The most I hoped for was a draw. I think our opponents were confused by our style of play, which is altogether different from the east- ern, if today's game is a fair example of that." Mr. May expressed his astonishment at the size of the linemen in yester- day's g me. "We don't have anything like that out on the coast. Our men on the line average about 185 pounds, and the backs about 175. And by the way," he asked, "is this Wilkinson of the Syracuse team considered a good back?" When assured that he was probably the best that has been seen here this season, May said, "Why, we have four that are every bit as good as he." This looked like a prediction of vic- tory, but when asked, May shook his head. "No, I would hardly say that. But I'd be willing to bet everything I have that we score on them." "Why," he said with a smile, "we didn't use our place kick against the team at Lansing, and that's one of our best bets. No, we don't use a drop. The ground is too wet to make it prac- ticable. We depend a lot on passes, and a whole lot on speed. That's how I think we won our game today-got the jump on them and swept them off their feet. "I like Ann Arbor," lie replied when asked. "It's the first eastern school I've seen. We hear a lot about Mich- igan in the west. That game of yours with Harvard last year attracted an immense amount of attention. We were all pulling for you." The Oregon Aggie team will leave Chicago on Monday morning for a sixty-hour trip to the coast. They have a special car fitted up for them, and on the trip east made two twenty- minute stops a day, to allow the tean to keep in condition.
