Exclusive of the batting of George
Sisler, the Michigan team is hitting
an average of .166 since its return
from the south. Including the marks
of that gentleman, the nine is batting
.183. The latter average is about 50
points below the lowest average of
the eastern teams which Michigan will
meet on the sea-board trip. The total
number of times at bat since the south-
ern trip is 207, while the 38 hits poked
out in that time gives an average of
.183.
The average for the year has suffer-
ed a severe drop as a result of the fall-
ing off on the home lot, the team hit-
ting for the year averages 152, where-
as it counted up to .303 after the sev-
en games played in Dixie. Only two
regulars are batting above .300, and
only six men who have played in a
Varsity game have averages above
that figure.

Martin, the star pitcher of the soph'

as the third year men could do nothing
with his delivery when a hit was need-
ed. After the first inning, he had,
things all his own way, and in addi-
tion, he got a home run. Pettibone
robbed Krause of a sure triple by a
leaping catch of his liner. The line-
