A. has an- nounced the appointme'nt of the fol- lowing nominating committees for the departmental "Y's" which are to be organized this year: lit college-G. P. McMahon, '16, R. E. Flynn, '17 and I. C. Johnson, :16; Law School-H. D. Parker, '15L, Paul Thompson, 16'L and Paul Doherty, '15L; engineering college-Paul Wagner, '16E, Merle Doty, '18E and E. These committees will report their selections this afternoon, and the men nominated will be voted on at the time of the general Campus Election day. The men elected as presidents of these departmental units will be given a place on the central cabinet of the "Y" anti they will hold the rpk of a vice-president of the main organiza- tion. Vaughan met with a head-on collision with a motor car driven by Prof. W. L. Henderson. No one was injured, but the car of Dr. Vaughan was so badly damaged that he was forced to aban- dan it until a wrecking machine could be secured. Players chosen from Lewis and Armour insti- tutes will play in the remaining two games. A Maroon player recently succeeded in defeating F. G. Marshall, formerly ranked as premier checker and chess champion. The Wolverine season will close June 1, after the completion of the Harvard match. COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY MAN SPEAKS ON PEACE MOVEMENT Leon Fraser, of Columbia universi- ty, spoke briefly before the combined Cosmopolitan and International Polity clubs Sunday afternoon, on the ques- tion of international peace. "It is unquestioned that the major- ity of people do not want war, and it is the purpose of this peace movement. to,determine how to rid the world of it," said Mr. Fraser. A discussion in which students from widely separated lands took part fol- lowed the lecture.
