Umpire Kimzey. ,1R1) OF REGENTS GiVES $650 Grants Money to Encourage Debating and Oratory To encourage debating and oratory at Michigan, and to enable the Orator- ical association to open all speaking events to the public, the board of re- gents of the university has made an appropriation of $650 to the support of the body. The sum will pay the ex- penses of the events held by the asso- ciation for one year, and will enable it to make admittance free to the Wis- consin and Northwestern debates and the annual peace and oratorical con- tests to be held here next year. The Oratorical association and the department of public speaking expect the appropriationtoassist materially in. increasing audiences at the public speaking events, and believes that more enthusiasm will be evident in. debating and oratory. LAURENCE KITCHELL GIVES TRIVELOGUE ON GLACIAL PARK Laurence T. Kitchell has been se- cured by the forestry club to give a travelogue on "Glacial National Park and the Blackfeet Indians," at 8:00 o'clock Wednesday night in Hill audi- torium. He .is said to have something unusual to offer in the way of motion pictures and .hand colored slides il- lustrating the great reservation in Montana and the life of the Blackfeet Indians. Mr. Kitchell has been in close touch with life in that section of the country. Soph Lits to Start Campaign for Dues Facing a big financial deficit for the present year, the officers of the soph- omore literary class have determined on a campaign among the members of the class, looking to the paynent of back dues. Aclass meeting will prob- ably be held on Tuesday, at which time the campaign will be launched. Professor Rasehbacher to Be Married Announcement of the engagement of Prof. H. G. Raschbacher, of the engi- neering college, and Cara Love- land, '08, of Saginaw, the wedding to occur sometime in August, has just been made. Miss Loveland is also a graduate of Vassar College, and a member of the Delta Gamma sorority. At present she is a teacher in the Sag- inaw high school. Yost Gives Football Men Brief Rest Coach Yost gave the football men a brief respite yesterday, to allow the gridiron candidates to see the Michi- gan-Western Reserve baseball game.
