Nearly 75 members of the Detroit committee of the Alliance Francaise are expected to come to Ann Arbor the night of April 29, to attend the an- nual play of the Cercle Francais, "La Poudre aux Yeux," at the Whitney theater. The Detroit body has reserv- ed a block of seats for the perform- ance, and has hired a special car to make the round trip between the two cities. First sale of student tickets for th play probably will be held Thursday and Friday of this week at Wahr's book store, and admissions to the gen- eral public will be sold during the first two days of next week. Holders of associate membership tickets may exchange them with members of the French faculty of the university this week for coupons, which will entitle them to 50 cent seats at the perform- ance. The coupons will also be taken as 50 cents on the purchase of a 75 cent or $1.00 ticket. The larger play of the' French club, and the short presentation of, "Il faut qu'une Porte Soit Ouverte o Fermee," which is to be given by Ruth Crandall, '15, and Rodney Parker, '16, will re- quire three changes of scenery and some special costuming. Both plays have been under preparation for near ly a month, under Director H. V. Wann, of the Cercle Francais, and a special conference upon the two plays is to be held Friday, with Dean John R. Effin- ger, of the literary department, in charge. The play, "La Poudre aux Yeux," has one of the largest 'casts ever used in any play given by the Cercle Francais, and is the first for some years in which a member of the French faculty has not played a cen- tral role. A special orchestra is being organized for the performance under the direction of De Forest D. Walton, Governor Places Dr.Peterson on Board In a recent list of appointments is- sued by Governor Ferris, the an- nouncement is made of the choice of Dr. Reuben Peterson, of the university hospital, as a member of the state board of registration of nurses.
