To the "birthday table" in the cen- ter of the floor, members of a pageant which represented the various repre- sentative women's activities marched, Helen Burlingham, '15, as the League, Mildred - Rees, '15, representing Bar- bour gymnasium, Adele Crandall, '16, as the Kermess girl, and Judith Gins- burg, 'p15, and Hildegarde Hagerman, '15, depicting the vocational counsel- ling system, were among the partici- pants in this feature. The Girls' Glee club sang special numbers and led the guests in the singing of college songs. President- Emeritus James B. Angell, President Harry B. Hutchins, and Mrs. Shirley W. Smith, '97, greeted the guests in short talks. The second performance of the jun- ior girls' play, "The-Come-back," by Eleanor N. Stalker, which followed the luncheon at 3:00 o'clock, was given no less successfully than the senior per- formance last Thursday evening. APPOINT TEAM TO REPRESENT MICHIGAN AT CHESS CONTEST A chess team to represent Michigan at the Chicago conference was chosen at the meeting of the Chess and Check- er club in the Union last night, and is as follows: Fred Sacia '15E, E C. Roth, '15, W. G. Given, '16E, and W T. Adams, '17. Selection was made on the basis of the men's showing in the championship tournament.
