About 25 hurl- ers and catchers turned out and went through the routine of limbering up. After an hour of tossing the sphere the candidates were given an oppor- tunity to show their worth at batting and fielding. Although this work was somewhat new and unexpected, several showed up well and handled the grounders in good shape. Beginning next week outdoor prac- tice for the freshmen will start, pro- viding the weather is favorable, and the diamonds on South Ferry field are in such shape as to permit strenuous use. At this time all candidates for all positions will report. All men are urged to met at Waterman gym at 1:00 o'clock tomorrow for the first bat- ting practice, each man bringing his own bat. GEORGE AND COHN CARRY OFF HANDBALL COURT TOURNAMENT George and Cohn won the campus championship in the doubles handball tournament by defeating Loud and Potts in the best three out of five gam- es at Waterman gym yesterday after- noon. The first game went to George and Cohn, after a hard fought battle, by the close score of 15 to 14, The second clash was not so close, the champions winning by a 15 to 9 score. Loud and Potts came back strong in the next meeting by walloping their antago- nists in good fashion, the score re- sulting 15 to 4. The next battle was the last one in this year's tournament, George and Cohn taking it in easy style and thereby winning the match and tournament. DELTA SIGMA RHO SENDS OUT BIDS FOR SPRING INITIATION Delta Sigma Rho, honorary debating fraternity, has issued 12 invitations for membership., The initiation will take place directly after spring vacation. Debating Societies To Meet Together Webster and Jeffersonian debating societies will hold their annual joint meeting in the Jeffersonian rooms at 7:30 o'clock tonight. The meeting will be addressed by R. K. Immel, instruc- tor in the oratory department. Follow- ing Mr. Immel's address there will be several short speeches and then a debate, in 'which the affirmative will be taken by the Jeffersonians and, the negative by the Websters.
