Four clay tennis courts will be con- structed on the top of the knoll/ in the field, after the trees are cut down. The courts will be provided with dlrains and, iron pipe backstops, and will be given dver to the use of the women of the university. The dirt taken from the knoll will be used to grade the hol- low, for which drains also will be pro- vided. At the southwest corner of the field, on Belser and Fourteenth streets-, a cricket field will be laid out. FRESHMAN BALL TOSSERS HOLD SECOND DRILL IN GYMNASIUM Coach "Tommy" Hughitt led his All- Fresh battery aspirants through their second drill at Waterman gym yester- day afternoon. Only 30 reported, 15 tossers and as many backstops, the remainder of the squad being detained by afternoon classes. All tryouts were put through a light workout, spending tae afternoon tossing the sphere around the cage in an attempt to get their arms in condition. Practice will be held at 1:00 o'clock on Thursday and Saturday afternoons' in the Waterman gym cage. Michigan may be entitled to alibi her standing on the grounds that she has defeated all the class "C" teams except Yale, and only her early season weakness kept her out of second place. Faculty Cross Swords with Students Fencing matches have been arrang- ed between the representatives of the faculty club and the student jousters, to take place the latter part of the week.
