DEBATERS PREPARE FO TWOCNTETS Wisconsin and Illinois Will Furnish Opposition for Representatives of Michigan IMPROVEMENT SEEN IN SPEAKERS Rebuttal work was the chief occu- pation of the debating teams last night in practicing for the Mid-west debate with Illinois Friday. The evening was characterized by the presentation of new material, and a marked develop- ment in the fluency and forcefulness of the debaters. The negative team, in charge of Prof. R. D. T. Hollister, of the oratory de- partment, will leave -for Madison to- morrow morning, in anticipation of the battle with Wisconsin to take place at the same time as the local fray. Reports from both Wisconsin and Illi- nois indicate that Michigan's oppon- ents will be represented by able speak- ers, and a hotly-fought contest is ex- pected by the university's teams. Final practice will be held this even- ing. This will mean the practical con- clusion' of the training, as tomorrow has been set aside as a day of grace for the debaters. Progress thus far portends complete readiness by the end of the week. REV.
