Marquardt 516 William Street FAMMKMM tea.. d.. 11 M hYLES Cloth Shop Your issue of February 19 contains a statement to the effect that the alum- ni association has recently purchased a number of motion-picture reels, which display student activities. As I read the passage, the.thought occurr- ed to me that the association could render a worthy service to students of future classes, by causing to be tak- en a series of living pictures, repre- senting the professors who are now in charge of the various departments; for I am certain that 'the students of days to come will be pleased to view the living likenesses ofthe different men who contributed to Michigan's eminence. Under present conditions at Ann Ar- bor, the students may lock at the por- traits of former Michigan celebrities, whose names they frequently hear mentioned; yet, there is lacking that touch of reality which a living picture would give. Then, too, there are many prominent athletes whose appearances are unfa- miliar to the student body, just as, there are traditional scenes which the passing of time necessarily changes,- all of which will interest later-day students., Therefore, I suggest that picture-taking be made an annual af- fair at Michigan.
