MICHI6AN CUNMEN
MAKE FIRST- PLACE,
Official Figures of Bating of Rifle Team
Show Good Record in Three
Matches
HAVE LOST NO GAMES SO FAR
r Official figures have been turned in,
and official compilations have been
made of the standings of the rifle teams
in the class "C" intercollegiate compe-
tion. To these have been added the
unofficial reports on the result of the
third match, and from this the stand-
ings have been tabulated through this
match, which has placed Michigan in a
tie for third place in averages, and for
first place in games won.
Unofficial figures credited Michigan
with a score of 899 in her match
against the University of Arizona,
while latest official reports from Wash-
ington, place the Wolverine's total at
902. Up to date, Michigan has lost no
games and has won three, which places
her, in one way, in a tie for first place
with Yale and Nebraska. But official
figures rate the teamsaccording to
their averages, which carried out to
only two decimal places gives Michi-
gan a tie for third place with Kansas,
which was recently defeated by the
Wolverine marksmen.

PLANS TO FURTHER
DE1CORATE CAMPUS
Landscape Design of Professor Tealdi
Will Carry Out Selene Begun
Last Spring
START ON WEST SIDE OF CAMPUS
Plans for the further beautification
of the campus have been prepared by
Prof. Aubrey Tealdi of the landscape
design department and early next
week work on the completion of the
decorative scheme begun last spring
will be resumed. The west side of
the campus, the southern part of which
was improved last year, will be the
first to receive the attention of the
landscape workers. Flowers and shub-
bery, similar to those planted in front
of the museum and Memorial Hall, will
be placed on the remainder o the
State street front,'with the object in
view of making a harmonized whole,
which will give a distinctive appear-
ance to the front of the campus.
It is the intention of Professor Teal-
di to have this design serve as an ob-
ject of study for students in landscape
design and those interested in the
"city beautiful." To further increase
the utility of the scheme metal name
plates will be placed on all the flowers
and shrubs, so that they may be used
for study purposes by botany students.
Work on beautifying the hospital
grounds and the ground around the
new power station will be started as
soon as weather conditions permit. On
account of the changes contemplated
in the gymnasium no work will be
done on the north east corner for the
present. Professor Tealdi also stated
that he thought it inadvisable to at-
tempt any larger improvements be-
fore the completion of the new science
building. As soon as this building is
finished, however, several changes in
the walks on the campus and the gen-
eral decorative design will be made.
Pahters lctoucling University Hall
Painters have been busy about Uni-
versity hall the last several days, re-
touching the woodwork in the interior.
