About five men of the 15 selected at the last tryout will be eliminated this forenoon. SENIOR LITS TURN OUT STRONG TO RETAIN BASKETBALL TITLE Enough men turned out at the Ann Arbor Y. M. C. A. building yesterday afternoon to make up two teams and a substitute for the senior lit basket- ball team, in their first practice of the new year. Last year's . champions showed an evident intention of keep- ing the basketball trophy in their pos- session, when every one of last year's five reported among the eleven pres- ent at the gym. Work for the first day was mild, so as not to stiffen the men before the actual training season, which begins with the second semester. PROFESSOR DOWRIE TO OFFER NEW COURSE IN ECONOMICS In response to a demand on the part of upper classmen who have time for but one or two courses in economics, Professor Dowrie is offering for the second semester, a three hour course in current economic problems. The new course is to be known as Political Economy 2a, being a continuation of la, the first semester course in eco- nomic principles The lecture and quiz sections are scheduled for the same rooms and hours as were an- nounced for the first semester course.
