It seems to be rather authentically determined at last-that Harvard will not meet Michigan next-year. The an- nouncement would not occasion much' surprise, if -it were not that Wolver- ine supporters believed that the con- test was highly satisfactory to Cam- bridge authorities, -and that a game for 1915 was practically scheduled. Both of these assumptions appear to have been ill-founded. In looking for reasons for the break, it is difficult to believe the story which insists that Harvard really fearsnthe re-juvenated Michigan eleven of next fall. The Crimson, it is said, puts forth all its strength to beat Yale; the early season games are almost negli- gible when it comes to rating the suc- cess of any particular year. In line with this theory,.the obvious advantag- es of a Michigan game would.scarce- ly be outweighed by the possibility of defeat. It is sorry business to look for more probable reasons for the discontinu- ance of the agreeable relationship, but it is fairly certain that real causes are not floating on the surface in the pres- ent discussion. The most popular man is not always he who takes your time telling you the exact number of dances he thas been -asked to attend during the holidays. Anyway, the Harvard incident will make a good point for the "I-told-you- so" squad to gloat. over in its winter quarters. Many a text book is about to take a long .journey, during which its owner will be Just as much a stranger as ev- er. Freshmen will tell the folks at home how they intimidated the faculty into granting an extra four days. But think of 'em up in Alaska. " . 4 The Majestic One of the best bills of the year, is at the Majestic the first part of this week. Every act is good, especially those of Kumry-Bush and Robinson in, "Fun in a Music Store," and Maxim's Models, who present living produc- tions of the world's most famous paint- ings. An added attraction is moving pictures of the trip to Harvard, and the Pennsylvania game. ~r University women who will remain in Ann Arbor during vacation, are-ask- ed to register their names and vaca- tion addresses with the president of the Women's League, through the sug- gestion box in the east corridor of the library. * * * Money for Kermess tickets must be turned in by the sellers to Minerva Bowen, '15, today, preferably from 11:00 to 12:15 o'clock, when she will be in the general library for that pur- pose.
