Washington St. America's representatives came out victorious in the miniature "world war" staged on south Ferry field yes- terday afternoon, the native born soc- cerites lowering the colors of a half dozen nations, in winning the exhibi- tion soccer game, arranged for the en- tertainment of the conference dele- gates. The final score was 3 to 0, but a much larger total might have been rolled up by the Americans, if the con- test had been allowed to go the usual time. Halves were shortened to 20 minutes each, to safe-guard against breaking existing neutrality agree- ments. Van Domselaar held the unique ree- ord of playing on both teams, the late arrival of Cohen causing a change in the lineup. The game was halted while Van Domselaar renounced all allegi- ance to the United States, this action being demanded before the foreigners would allow him to be added to their battle front. Fowler, Rosenthal and Martin were the brightest stars for the native sons, each one getting credit for a goal. Jos- eph, at goal for the winners, also put up a fine game, preventing several scores when the invaders threatened to tally. The losers played well individ- ually, a lack of team work was disas- trous to them. The contest drew a crown of more than 2,000 persons, the entiy field be- ing surrounded by the spectators. RIFLI; CLUB f[AT BE ORGANIZED Officers to le Elected Next Tuesday if Men Turn Out Michigan seems destined to have a rifle club, as Intramural Director Rowe has received a letter from the state and national officials, stating that, if Michigan can organize a club, and join the National Rifle association, Krag rifles can be secured for outdoor prac- tice, and the rifle gallery at the Ar- mory can be procured for indoor work. A meeting of all interested in form- ing a, club is to be held at the trophy room in Waterman gym at :00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. If enough men appear, the club will be fully organiz- ed at this time, officers elected, and application for membership in the national organization will be drawn up. MARIETTA COLLEGE, O., Novem- ber 24.-About the trine of the Denison. game, some of the gentlemen in col- lege decided that they would get to Granville, if they had to ride a freight train to accomplish their purpose. On the morning of the game two of the main actors in the drama showed up and pleaded in vain for the others to arouse from their slumbers, and carry out the dirty deed. One fellow, iystead of getting out of bed and accompany- ing the other knights of the road, ap- plied shoes and bricks to the faithful old Big Ben at the foot of his. bed. The other simply rolled over and re- turned to slumber land, but later in the day applying their brains to the task of studying they soundly resolved that when the next chance came round, they would choose the lesser of two evils and take the first freight put of town. Our story would be incomplete with- out an account of the two faithful "bums," They turned out to be regu- lar "Knights of The Road" before they got to Granville, hitting back doores. and sleeping in old barrels along the. road. There is a reunion of the hoboes at every meal time, when they hit the back doors of the houses on Fourth street, and beg for a bit- of bread or a cup of coffee. w I Graham's Barber Shop, 121 W.
