P BLOCK "M" WILL FAIL UNLESS
MORE STUDENTS GET BANNERS
Athletic authorities fear that after
several years of success, the annual
block "M," formed in the student
cheering section, is apt to be a failure
this year, due to the failure of stu-
dents, sitting in that portion, to report
for their flags, which are used in form-
ing the letter and its background.
Those holding seats in that part of the
stand are urged to get their flags at
the athletic association office this
morning.

FRESHMAN WAGER RESULTS IN
SPEEDY CROSS.C0UNTRY WALK
Thomas McAllister, '18, and Ward
Scott, '18, walked to Detroit in seven
hours and forty-five minutes Thurs-
day night.
An evening's argument led up to a
discussion of the time it would take
to walk into Detroit, and resulted in a
wager.to the effect that McAllister and
Scott could not make the distance in
eight hours. Eight miles out of De-
troit, time was taken out for coffee,
which was the only nourishment that
either had until yesterday's breakfast.
