There has not been consistent or marked indication of in- hospitality, but, on the other hand, there has been no effort in the other direction. The only possible result has been that Ann Arbor is not considered as an especially cordial place to visit when one comes in the guise of an opponent. The. criticism would be common- place if the remedy were not so acces- sible. As a collective manifestation of good will, the Michigan Union might send a general invitation to the stu- dent authorities of any college whose team was about to start for Ann Arbor, extending the liberty of its building to the visitors. Whether the privilege were used or not, it would be appreciated. Perhaps it might be even more convincing if the Union were to print open-house cards and send them in advance to the prospec- tive guests, in care of representative students.' When the visitors have once arrived in the city, individual students can play a large part in making them feel welcome.
