Y. 11. C. A. Arrange For Big Program.
A full program for the university Y.
W. C. A. has been arranged for the
week beginning tomorrow. In the
afternon a luncheon will be given to
the two national secretaries, who will
be visitors here for a week. Tomor-
row evening a reception will be given
by the advisory board, composed of
Dean Myra B. Jordan and the wives
of the university faculty. The re-
mainder of the week will be taken up
with lectures and discussions to which
all college women are invited.
Adelphi Society Will Meet Tonight.
Adelphi literary society will hold a
regular meeting tonight at 7:30 in the
club rooms on the fourth floor of Uni-
versity b~all. All men interested in de-
bating or oratory are invited to at-
tend the meeting. The plans for the
tryouts for the varsity cup team will
be discussed.

At a special election for junior law
president yesterday afternoon, R. M.
Snyder was elected with a small ma-
jority over E. C. Haislip. This elec-
tion was held on account of a-failure
to obtain a majority at the regular bal-
lot last Saturday.
Junior dents elected yesterday morn-
bag as follows: president, B. Welling;
vice-president, H. A. Badger; secre-
tary, Miss M. Davis; treasurer, Oscar
Manthey; athletic manager, L. E. Bar-
ibeau.
Catholic Club Gives Party Tonight.
The first of a series of parties will
be given by the Catholic Students'
club this evening at St. Thomas hall.
Dancing will begin promptly at 8:30.
Several lectures by prominent clergy-
men will be given during the year, and
all Catholic students should secure
membership cards and attend the meet-
ings.

be illustrated with lantern slides which
have been collected by the speakers
in connection with their research or
experimental work. When illustra-
tions are used the expenses of the lan-
tern and the operator are provided
for by the local committee.
Many Requests Have Been Received.
Requests have already been received
for more than the full number of Iec-
tures, but Prof. Henderson has made
only 100 assignments, as many more
cities undoubtedly will ask for dates
before the courses begin.
To insure uniformity in advertising
matter, the university has arranged
this year to supply a certain amount of
material in the form of window hang-
ers and show cards.
The lectures are arranged primari-
ly with the view of advancing culture,
providing expert and technical knowl-
edge for the different cities and' ac-
quainting the faculty members with lo-
cal conditions in the state.

ternoon, until darkness interferes, the
first year men are being put through
a stiff program of practice, correcting
faults which glared forth last Satur-
day and running through new forma-
tions and plays.
The, eleven, which comes to Ann Ar-
bor to face the freshmen, plays with a
fair record behind it, and a defeat of
the former at the hands of the latter
will go far to wipe out some old scores.
Especially so, since the Detroit men
recently played Hillsdale to.a tie and
defeated our neighbors at Alma.
Coach Conklin will not pick his line-
up until after today's drill, but it is
safe to say that there will be some ma-
terial changes in the backfield at least.
Gault will work at half, from all in-
dications, and Rhoem, Deal, and either
Worquoin or Hunt will compose the
remainder of the rear territory. A few
alterations in the line will not come
unexpected.
