Craig, Kohler, and Haimbaugh are the only men coming back next year who have won their letter previous to this year, and the captain is custom- arily picked from this group of men. The official picture will be taken at Rentschler's studio Monday at 1:00 o'clock. All men who have won their M or A. M. A. this year should be pres- ent. There are several. track men in school who have won their letters in former years, but did not gain the in- signia this year.. Such men are not eligible to vote for captain, or to ap- pear in the official picture., WAGNER & COMPANY STATE Street. At a meeting of the officials of the boat club yesterday afternoon the pro- tests on the swimming race were de- cided. Staatz and Field were awarded first in the men's doubles, and the sil- ver cup was presented to Staatz. It was also decided to have compe- tion for the officials of the club con- ducted on the new plan of the athletic association in choosing managers. The system will be put into operation next year, and fershmen and sophomores will be eligible for competition. The places to be filled on the executive board caused by the graduation of Morton Hunter and Clem Quinn will be appointed by the club from mem- bers- of the present junior class who are members of the club. A regatta has been planned for the summer to take place at the Barton Pond on July 19. It will be in the na- ture of a beauty contest, and will be in charge of a temporary organization under the supervision of Vice Commo- dore G. B. Duffield, '14E. Michigan has taken official notice of the death of Trainer Mike Murphy, of Pennsylvania, and the athletic author- ities last night wired a message of sympathy to the Philadelphia officials. The telegram was addressed to the Athletic association of the University of Pennsylvania, and was signed "Ath-. letic Association of the University of Michigan." The Michigan Daily nosed out the Gargoyle, defeat- ing the humorists by tho score of 40 2-3 to 39. The other teams scored as follows: Handbook 5; Michiganen- sian 4; Painted Window 1; and Direc- tory 1-3. Senior Fits May Get More Invitations. After negotiation by telegram the senior lit invitation committee has been able to place an extra order for a limited number of additional invita- tions. Those desiring to obtain any more of the booklets may leave orders at Wahr's Book Store, where the ex- tra invitations wil be handled. With the choice of a suc- cessful tennis season for Michigan, the members of the varsity squad elected Wilson as captain. The graduating classes, regents, and members of the faculty will form for the commencement address will be given by President George E. Vincent, of the University of Minnesota.
