The Deutschcr V erein at its mneeting
Wednesday night accpted the invita-
tion of the Intercollegiate Association
of German clubs, to become a mem-
ber. This association was founded
early this year by a number of cast-
ern colleges and universities. Its
headquarters are at New York andi its
purpose is to create a love for Germa-
ny and things German in th'e American
universities; to cooperate with the
German universities for mutual bene-
fit by exchanging lecturers and cor-
respondence; and to bring the German
clubs in the American universities in-
to 'closer connection with one another.
Michigan is the first western universi-
ty °to join the association.

With the lecture to be given by Mr.I
John M. Zane, 184, of the Chicago bar,
this afternoon, the order of the CoifJ
the national legal honorary society,
will present th'e first annual address
given under its auspices. The address
will be held in roomn G of the law
building at 4:00 o'clock and will be
open to the public.
Mr. Zane has a wide reputation as
a lawyer and comes as one of the
leaders in the Chicago bar. While in
the city Mr. Zane will be the guest of
Dean H.. M. Bates.

final interview with Prnes. Hutchins
on Wednesday morning, when they,
surprised him by stating that they:f
had been drinking the evening before.
They also told the story to Prosecutor
Burke, and the arrest followed. They
stated that -they had received several:
drinks in° Damm's place, at least one
of them from Damm himself, and it is
thought that they also gave to the
p~rosecutor a list of names of students
who had been drinking there that ev-
ening. The prosecution may call upon
these men to testify when the case is
taken' into court.
