No blame can attach to anyone in yesterday's deplorable happ~ening at 1{einzernan Lake. It was just another of those caprices of a Fate which seems to have chosen Michigan's stu- dent body this year as prey for horror after horror. Those present at the scene of the accident will ever remember the hero- ism of Paul Sampson's classmates who took their lives in their hands in an effort to recover the body and who later worked tirelessly into the night, hoping against hope that life might' be brought back. In years to come, many the man who, in recalling the heartrending incidents connected with 1 Sampson's death, will think of them as so many chapters in a book whose characters might be thought of as love and bravery and self-sacrifice, person- ified.
