Students to Testify: The case against
the Huron club, which was raided by
the police last winter for selling in-
toxicants illegally, wiil come up for
a hearing in the Cirimt court tomor-
row. Three students will be called
upon to testify.
Celebrities in Bad: Tom Lovell and
"Railroad Jack" are under police ban,
and will be prohibited from delivering
speeches on the city streets in the fu-
ture. The reason assigned is that the
crowds who congregate to listen to the
wit and wisdom of the campus poet,
and the human encyclopedia obstruct
traffic.
SuJpoenas Scare Students: Fearing
that they may receive subpoenas to ap-
pear as witnesses in the slander case
said to be instituted by Roosevelt sup-
porters against a certain newspaper,
many of the students alleged to have
knowledge valuable to the defense are
"n an uneasy state of mind. So far no
subpoenas ,have been served by the
sheriff's force for this case.
Gypsies Annoy Studenis: A band of
gypsies invaded the city yesterday and
accosted students with insistent de-
mands for money. Reports of the
nomads' depredations among the form-
houses in the vicinity of Ann Arbor
having reached the police department,
it united with the sheriff's force to rid
the community of the band.
-X-
Students to Swat Flies': Flies have
come under the ban of the Civic Im-
provement association, and a war of
extermination is being waged to de-
stroy breeding places. Fly swatters
have been distributed among the chil-
dren of the ward schools, and the uni-
versity students will be asked to enlist
in the crusade.
