Because it makes for a better feel- ing of campus citizenship. Because it develops character and honor in the student body. OUR HELP NEEDED. When disaster strikes home, we feel it keenly but when it comes from afar1 we are too prone to pass it over light-I ly. At present our sister states are in1 distress. Thousands of homes are de- vasted and thousands of families are suffering from want. As a university, the center of all+ things high and ideal, we should stop long enough from our daily life to' comfort those of our friends who are+ in suspense as to the fate of their1 homes. We should at least be able to lend our aid, be it ever so small, to the relief fund that the governor has asked the state to raise. The university, as an institution, has offered the services of its physicians; and nurses to the stricken district and will do all it can to help the needy. But the students have not yet come to. the front. May we suggest that a student re- lief fund be subscribed?
