State St. tf MAKE PLANS FOR STATE TEACHERS An elaborate series of lectures, en- tertainments, and receptions, is being arranged for Schoolmasters' week, April 2, 3, and 4, when the high school teachers of the state will gather here for their annual meeting. In addition to the junior girls' play which is always given at this time,and the alumnae banquet which follows it, an innovation has been introduced this year in the form of two receptions at the Michigan Union on the 3rd and 4th. Prof. W. W. Florer is chairman of the reception committee. Several special lectures have been arranged for, one by Prof. Karl Bezold of Heidelberg, Germany, another by Prof. C. J. Chamberlain of Chicago University, and another by Prof. D. C. Miller of Case. Mr. Paul E. Moore, editor of "The Nation," will address the general meeting on Friday evening. A large number of lectures by dif- ferent professors in the university will be delivered before the entire club. The complete program will be an- nounced later. Fresh Dents and Pharmics to Dance. Fresh dentsaand fresh pharmics will give a combined dance at Grangers academy Thursday, April 3. A five piece orchestra will furnish the music and about 60 couples are expected to attend. Tickets can be obtained from members of the social committees for $1.00. Catholic Ladies to Hold Easter Party. Elaborate decorations and special favor dances will feature the Easter party to be given by the Young Ladies, Sodality of St. Thomas church Monday evening at 8:00 o'clock. Invitations have been sent out, and the number of tickets to be sold is limited to 100. SENIOR BARRISTERS TO HOLD ANNUAL APRIL FOOL'S DANCE. Mr. Fool, dunce-cap and all, has consented to attend the senior laws' annual dancing party at the Union on April 1, and the affair has. been named in honor of the guest. Beyond this, the delegation of barristers in charge of the affair refuse to speak, explaining that "The Crease," to be published in connection, will contain all necessary enlightenment. Hugh Black, professor of practical theology in the Union Theo- logical Seminary, of New York, will deliver the address at the Union ser- vices in University Hall, Sunday even- ing at 7:45 o'clock. The subject of the address will be "Religion and the present age. The Rev. Mr. Black comes here un- der the auspices of the Wesleyan guild of the Methodist church, but every church in the city will join in the ser- vices.
