MAIN Yd i Guaranteed Alrm Clock Haller Jewelry Co. 308 South State Street Whatever makes for a greater feel- ing of civic responsibility on the cam- pus is of immense value to the uni- versity. To a large extent it is this feeling of citizenship,-'the embodi- ment, in everyday affairs, of the spirit of the institution existing in each one of the members that compose it,-that makes the university what it is. The Daily believes in the honor sys- tem in examinations because of what it will do toward developing in every student the feeling of campus citizen- ship. It places directly on the student body the responsibility of carrying out fairly and honorably one of the most important functions of university ad- ministration, namely, the conduct of examinations, determining the grant- ing of academic credit and setting the standard for graduation. The man who cheats in examina- tions is working selfishly for himself and directly against the bigger ideal of the university. To make every man feel his responsibility toward the group as a whole means Michigan spirit, true democracy, and real citi- zenship. ENGINEERS TO HEAR EXPERT ON NOTION PICTURE -MACHINES Mr. Frank B. Gilbreth, consulting en- gineer, will lecture on "Scientific Man- agement and Motion Study" this morn- ing at 11:00 o'clock in room 348 in the new engineering building. The lecture is open to the public. While in the city, Gilbreth is a guest at the home of Prof. J. A. Burs.- ley, of the mechanical engineering de- partment. e 534 P-one 534 Ti.!h'icao alumni medal was pro- vided in the summer of 1894 by the Chicago alumni association, and is the finest of its kind in the world.
