Representatives in ijiversity

Five preliminary class contests will
be held this week to determine the five
entries for the university oratorical
contest Aarch 21, which will decide
Michigan's representation in the
Northern Oratorical League contest
this year.
'Two senior;, two juniors, and one
sophomore will compete in the final
contest, the winner of which will re-
ceive the Chicago Alumni medal and
the Kauffman testimonial of $100.00.
Seccnd place will be awarded another
testUt:flnal ci' $50.00.
At rr ent there are 22 entries for
se clas3 cvcts, ebt. it is possible
that some Yv.ill KThadrawv to enter the
1amilton contest. There are now four
cnicrs, twelve junicrs, and s x sopho-
mores.
Owing to the large number of third
year ientries, there will be two prelim-
inary and a semi-final contest for this
class. The first junior contest will be
held in room B of the law building to-
morrow evening at. 7:30 o'clock, Tues-
day evening the second junior prelimi-
nary will be held, and the semi-final
coutest is set for Saturday, March 1.
The sophomore contest will pe held
1ednesday evening, and the senior
contest Thursday afternoon.
EN1-,r LIT INVITATIONS
T;) BE ON SALE THIS WEEKD,
Coranencement invitations have ar-
rived for the senior lits, and will be
ien out some time this week. Mem-
bers of the class may secure as many
as they desire at 30 cents each, the
only stipulation being that money must
accompany the orders.
At the same time that the
orders 'for the invitations are
received the class tax will be
collected. This is the matter
which is holding up the distribution of
the invitations as the memorial com-
mittee has not reported. A class meet-
ing will be held early this week, at
which time this committee will report,
and action will be taken by the class.
The amount of- the budget will then be
determined, and the exact amount of
thc tax- can be figured.
HISTORY AND MATHEMATICS
TEACHERS ENROLL TOMORROW

RABBI FRANKLIN WILL SPEAK
AT MIC HGAN UION TODAY.
The program at the Union this af-
ternoon will begin as usual promptly
at 3:00 o'clock. Rabbi Leo Franklin
of Detroit as the speaker of the after-
noon will talk on "The Modern Jew
and His Religious Belief." T. W. Shen,
'14E, S. U. Huang, '15E, and Jabin Hsu,
'14, will furnish native Chinese instru-
mental music.
WEEKLY DANCE FEATURES
WASHINGTOYS BIRTHDAY.
The regular weekly dance at the
Union last night was featured by a
number of Washington's Birthday
stunts. No trouble was experienced
with the tango enthusiasts end every-
body seemed satisfied with the Boston
and more ancient styles. The chap-
erones were Prof. and Mrs. C. B. Wag-
ner and Prof. and Mrs. L. H. Doynton.
Women May Submit Music Tomorrow,
All women who have any music for
the second junior girl's play are re-
quested to bring the copy to Barbour
gym tomorrow afternoon at - 4:00
o'clock. The second tryout for the cast
to fill the characters for the. two plays
that are to be given in April will be
held at the same.time.
