The on- ly way to do this is to penalize cam- paigning of all sorts. The council, if the spirit of the council is to be maintained, ought to rule: No candidate for nomination or election to the student council shall be eligible to election or a seat in the council by or for whom electioneering of any sort has been proved to have been done, with or without his knowl- edge or consent. THE ATRIICAL CIRCLE S. "Little Boy Blue." "Little Boy Blue," the .Henry W. Savage offering, which is 'to be the at- traction at the Whitney theater Thurs- day, January 16, is one of the most pretentious of that progressive mana- ger's attractions. "Little Boy Blue" was written by Rudolph Schanzer, who provides the book, and Carl Lin- dau who composed the~music, and was Americanized by A. E. Thomas and Edward Paulton. There is a large chorus composed of pretty young girls and good -looking boys, and an orches- tra of grand opera proportions. a a good one is not the question. have the system. Residence 576-L WAS IT CROOKED? The filed protest from two members of the junior law class arising out of the solicitation of their votes yester- l ay in the stuident council elections, puts an issue up to the council, which, if rnoi prcmptly acted on, will mean the start of *that organization on a rapid slide downiward. It is our opinion that the council can take but one step- ain Jinves'ligation of all the elections and a«ine w election in every case where there has been a violation of the anti- c ampaig«b ing understanding. Once upon a. time, it would have been an impossibility to as much as attempt the vote swapping that char- acterized both the nominating polls on Saturday and the elections yester- iay. There are consistent reports to the effect that there were discrepan- cies in other, classes. The protests from the junior law class, if acted up- on as they should be, will throw out 'he entire election, as both sides are involved. If proper emphasis is laid on the rule relative to campaigning by the c;ounci-l itself, the system of secret bal- lot nominations can be given a further trial.. Those who originated the sys- tem were of the opinion that in each class there would be one or two men who, if there was no campaigning in advance, would naturally be selected or the office. Consequently, any cam- paigning whatsoever is i violation of the spirit of the system of elections. There seems to be a feeling prevalent that if the candidates themselves do not do any campaigning, it is all right for their friends to put ini a good -word or even to ask others to vote for them. Whether or not this' system is Soph engineers pay dues day and Thursday across from dean's office. Literary hockey, practice at 7:00 o'clock tonight. Fresh lit basketball practice at City Y. M. C.
