A series of special clinics is being held at the homeopathic hospital this week for the benefit of practitioners of medicine and surgery. A large number of visiting physicians was in attendance at the first meeting yester- day and expressed satisfaction with the work done. Dr. R. H. Stevens and Dr. S. H. Knight, both of Detroit, are assisting the regular clinical faculty in the work. A reception was tendered the vis- itors and students last night by the members of the homeopathic faculty and their wives. By her loyalty and helpfulness "Maggie," as she was called. endeared herself to the hearts of all who knew her. Miss Johnson was a native of Ann Arbor and served for many years as superintendent of the Sunday school of the colored Baptist church. She is survived by an uncle, with whom she had been living, and a brother. CORNELL OFFICIAL HERE TO INSPECT MICHIGAN METHODS Mr. Willard Beahan, of Cleveland, an alumnus member of the board of trustees of Cornell University, is in the city for a few days making an inspection of the university and an investigation of the administrative methods. ENGINEERING LIBRARIAN HAS ACCEPTED LANSING POSITION Miss Ella F. Tobias, who for seven years has had charge of the engineer- ing library, resigned her position dur- ing the holidays to accept a position in the Michigan State library at Lan- sing. Miss Tobias has been connect- ed with the engineering library al- most all of the time it has been in ex- istence. She succeeds the same libra- rian at Lansing whose place she filled on first arriving at Michigan. Prof. W. B. Pillsbury, head of- the psychology laboratory, left the city Christmas day en route for Italy. He will spend the winter in southern Europe, going north to Germany in the spring. This trip had been planned for later in the year, but his physicianp urged immediate departure. Prof. J. F. Shepard will take charge of Prof. Pillsbury's classes for the remainder of the semester. At the beginning of the second semester, as- sistants will be appointed for the re- mainder of the year. ADVERTISING EXPERT COMES HERE TO 31AKE EXPERIMENTS W. A. Shryer, of Detroit, author of "Analytical Advertising," will conduct a number of experiments connected with the psychology of advertising in the university laboratories this spring. He has secured Dr. W. B. Pillsbury's house and will reside in Ann Arbor while working with the experiments. Foresters Will Dance Friday Evening. Members of the Forestry club will hold their first annual dance Friday night at the Packard academy.
