SQUIRRELS WILL
DIE IF NOT FED:
Prof. Filibert Roth of the forestry
department said yesterday, Unless the
squirrels in Ann Arbor are regularly
and industriously fed, three quarters
of them will be dead before the warm
weather returns." The crop' of tree
seeds and nuts has been an entire
failure this year and the only food sup-
ply the squirrels will have must come
from the students and townspeople.
Prof. Roth laid much emphasis on his
statement and said further that un-
less the squirrels are properly fed the
authorities ought to adopt some means'
of getting rid of them. Incidentally
he thought they should be reduced in
numbers anyway, inasmuch as they
are becoming so numerous as to be
a nuisance and in just such a year as
this too numerous for a community of1
this size to take care of. However,"
until something can be done, every-
body should take an interest in feed-
ing them, not merely a peanut now
and then, but by systematically pro-
viding nuts and the like so that the
little bush-tails wil not suffer from
hunger.

BAND WiLL NOT TAKE PART
