It seems to us that the Wisconsin student paper has struck the same key-note that we have tried to pound for several issues back. IN OTHER WORDS, IT'S UP TO THE MICHI-! GAN ATHLETIC BOARD TO SIGNIFY TO THE CONFERENCE A DESIRE TO FIND OUT WHAT DIFFERENCES EXIST BETWEEN THE CONFER- ENCE AND OURSELVES AND WHAT CONCESSIONS OR CHANGES IN OUR ATHLETIC POLICY ARE NECES- SARY TO MAKE POSSIBLE A RE- SUMPTION OF COMPETITION WITH WESTERN TEAMS. Any delegation from Michigan might well consist OF AT LEAST THREE MEN to insure a presentation of both view-points. Then when the matter has been threshed out, it can then be referred back for a thorough discussion. 3fIUSIC AND DRAMA. Complimentary Recital. Mr. Harrison Albert Stevens, pianist, of the faculty of the University School of Music, will give a complimentary recital in School of Music Hall, Mon- day evening, at 8:00 o'clock. Rudolf Ganz, the great Swiss pianist, will appear in recital Tuesday evening next in High School hall. Mr. Ganz has been everywhere received with'en- thusiasm in his. present American tour, and his Ann Arbor appearance will no doubt be another triumph ad- ded to those he has already won. The program is to include, among many of the well known great works, several novelties, among them a sonata of Korngold, the Viennese "wonder- child." Tickets for the concert are neces- sarily limited in number on account of the size of the concert room, and there has already been a large advance sale at the Wabr book stores. Under the caption "Michhigan .and the Conference" the Wisconsin Daily Cardinal says editorially as follows: "Although it is to be regretted that the University of Michigan has not resumed relations with the western conference to which she rightfully be- longs, any one who has the least fa- miliarity with the facts of the case realizes that the recent meeting of the conference representatives did the only thing that could have been done. Since that meeting, there has been a great deal of criticism made upon the member, of the conference because no attention was paid to Michigan. The truth is that, so far as the confer- ence was concerned, Michigan paid no attention to it. "When Michigan severed her rela- tions with the western conference, she did so of her own free will and with a full realization of what she was doing. The conference was willing to have her remain in the circle of western universities, but Michigan willed it otherwise. Now, clearly, it is Michigan's duty to make the first move if she wants to return to the circle from which she withdrew six years ago. That the western conference should of its own initiative go to Mich- igan and ask that university to re-en- ter the organization is not for a mo- ment to be thought of. "This is not to be construed in any way as an attack on Michigan. Noth- ing would be more desirable than to have Michigan once more resume et- lations with the western conference Quickest and Best Service on Call pay and Night r WHILE THEY A S T A first-class Shaving Stick for 15c.
