Surplus and Profits $67,000 A On Dail at your door for Remainder of College Year $2.00 Students in American Universities have been criticised for being out of touch with :the affairs of the, world; in particular for being out of touch with politics. There is more or less justice in this accusation, but it is not entirely our fault that the part we play in political matters is so small. We may be enthusiastic in our allegi- ance to some party, to some man, or to some principles, but it takes the keen edge ofd of our enthusiasm when we realize that we are not even able to vote for the man of our Echoic E. During the lastc-acampaign we form- ed political clubs and wasted consid- erable energy in political vaporizing, but most of us did not have money enough to go home, and since Bryan said such mean things about the bloat- ed plutocrats, the Democratic4 party, at least; could not pay our way. Wco have a chance now to turn our political enthusiasm to a practical end. . Several hundred politicians have just been elected to offices which they would be only too glad to retain. They are perfectly willing to give us a chance to vote for them. All we need tq do is to start the ball rolling and we should have no trouble in get- ting a bill through the state legisla- ture which will permit us to vote,-in the national elections at least. Those of us who live at too great a distance from Ann Arbor to be able to get home to vote, should organize '.our forces and work to have this bill pass- ed. Freshmuan Spread Notice. All college women who have not re- ceved invitations to the freshman spread, should notify Margaret Foote, phone 187, at once.
