One of the most popular attractions booked for this season at the Whitney theater is the perennial favorite, Chauncey Olcott. He will be seen here Monday evening, December 2, in "The Isle O' Dreams," a charming ro- mnance of life in Ireland several cen- turies ago. The play was written by Rida Johnson Young and deals with the dashing type of character found in the stories of Lever, Maxwell, and other Irish novelists, and brings back once more the romantic era to the stage. Under the leadership of competent in- structors, Bible study classes have been organized, many of the faculty women participating. An interesting feature is the work of a group of women -who will give a few hours each week to the sick chil- dren at the hospital, telling them sto- ries, and bringing them gifts of cheer. At Christmas a large "toy-party" will be given at Newberry hall, to which all the guests will bring toys for the sick children. Each month, in conjunction with the S. C. A., a reception will be given for all university students and the social committee is planning one or two large parties. On Wednesday afternoons at 5:00 o'clock some prominent person on the faculty, or from out of town will have something interesting to say to col- lege women and all are cordially in- vited to attend.
