Foulk, AN AUDITORIUM STAGE. It is a great disappointment that the Hill auditorium will not have a stage of sufficient size to be suitable for uni- versity dramatic productions. We had hoped for a completely equipped the- atre,-scenery, dressing rooms, and all,-and we find that this hope is not to be realized. Certainly university dramatics are worth the extra expense. Michigan- prides herself on taking a leading place among American univer- sittes in dramatic activities. It is very seldom that we have the chance to see a show of literary merit on the stage of the local theatres. The university authorities owe it to the organizations which are producing dramas of the better sort, to give them such encouragement as might have been given here at a slight added ex- pense. We hope that as soon as suf- ficient funds are acquired wherewith to make the necessary changes, the need will not be overlooked. 4. A. PLIMPTON TO SPEAK ON 1EVELOPMENT OF TEXT BOOKS Mr. George A. Plimpton has been secured by the department of edu- cation to deliver his famous lecture on the development of text books next Monday afternoon in the economics lecture room at 4:30 p. im. Mr. Plimp- ton is theowner of the best collection of text books in existence, and has already spoken on this subject at both Harvard and Yale. After leaving Michigan he will speak at several uni- versities on his way to Leland-Stan- ford. The lecture will be illustrated and every person. attending will re- ceive a souvenir. GRIFFINS HOLD ANNUALI FALL DANCE TONIGHT. Griffins, messengers of the Gods, will hold its annual fall dance tonight at the Packard dancing academy. After consultation with the Muses, musicians from the southland were obtained for the pleasure of the deities in the shape of the Wright saxophone trio. Many feature dances will be included in the program, which in itself will be unique in design and character. Dancing will commence at 8:00 o'clock. Prof. Hoad Returns From Trip.. Prof. W. H.
