DIRECTORY IS TO COME OUT
EARLIER THAN L-AST SEASON
In the workshop of the Ann Arbor
Press building, work is quietly pro-
gressing on that valuable little book,
the Student Directory. The editors
have gathered all the available copy
and placed it in the hands of the print-
ers with orders to rush the work to
completion. As there is a definite
time limit set within which all copy
must be in, the work should progress
without further hindrance.
Already what many consider the
most important part of the book, the
Ypsilanti section, has been cast Into
type, and the names of most Ann Ar-
bor students have also been set up.
Should all go well, this year's book
will be ready for distribution about a
month earlier than was last-year's edi-
tion, and it will probably be placed on
sale the latter part of next month. No
important changes have been mdde
this year. The contents will include a
faculty directory, a list of 'phones by
streets, and the alphabetical list of
students for the university, the School
of Music, and the Michigan State Nor-
mal college at Ypsilanti.
The price will probably remain at
25 cents per copy.
PARENTS WILL BE NOTIFIED
WHEN STUDENTS BECOME ILL
Pres. H. B. Hutchins has made ar-
rangements with the directors of the
hospitals so that in case of serious
illness of any student, relatives and
friends may be notified immediately
upon his removal to the hospital.
There are at present two students in
the main hospital who are affected
with contagious diseases. Mildred
Blumenthal, '16, is recovering from a
severe attack of scarlet fever, having
been sick for nearly three weeks, and
Orlando Snyder, '14M, who was taken
to the hospital with typhoid fever
about two weeks ago is-improving.
No sickness resulting from the im-
purities in the city water have been
reported.
ERIE STUDENTS ORGANIZED;
INTEND TO BOOST MICHIGAN.
Seventeen students from Erie, Pa.,
met at the Union last evening for the
purpose of organizing a club. The ob-
ject of the society is to promote the in-
terests of the university in that city.
Various plans were discussed and it
was decided to send The Michigan Dai-
ly to the High School library. It was
also proposed to entertain at a dinner'
dnring Christmas vacation all pros-
pective college students in the last
year in High School.

"The Price."
At the Whitney theater tonight,
Clarence Bennett and Company
will present "The Price,"which has but
recently closed its long engagement
at the Hudson theater, New York. It
was written by George Broadhurst,
the author of "Bought and Paid for,"
"Man of the Hour" and other success-
ful plays, and is starring Miss Edna
Marshall.
.Supporting her. is a company se-
lected solely with the idea of giving a
perfect performance of the play. In
the cast besides Miss Marshall, there
are George V. Dill, Catherine Evans,
Glen Porter, Clarence Bennett, Roy
Van Fossen and others. Each of the
scenes is faithfully staged, so that the
illusion of the place and time is not
lost. The original Hudson theater
production will be seen here.
