Thru the Affections
Love takes little account of prop-
erty divisions. Every person thrn
love can own the same object, and
say, "MY town; MY college; MY
universe." To be religious is to
train oneself to feel and to own the
world in this way and thus enter
into that Divine Unity which is
salvation and peace.

BE LOYAL!
A man without loyalty is ia phantom,
askeleton, a stack of bones, a mess of
meat. Be a man, be loyal!
Lore your university, unil your
hearts burst with love and your blood
boils with zeal. A man who loves can
do no harm, nor can he go wrong.:lBe
a Michigan mnan, be loyal!
Love your Micehigan songs, sing them
today, tomorrow and forever. A1 hu-
man who sings, becomes inspired..
Sing., and be loyal!
Love the friends and associations of
your undergraduate days. Remember
that your success is their success and
their success is your success. Keep
your friends, be loyal!
Love the future of your university
as you have loved its present. Make
yourself a part of these alumni asso-
ciations that are scattered throughout
the nation. If you find no association
in your new home, make one. Be a
Nlichigan organizer, be loyal!
You have been a part of one of the
greatest institutions of learning. En-
gineers, doctors, lawyers, dentists, lin.
guists, scienitists, teachers, men of in-
ternational flame - dreamers-have
schooled you. Others have been for.
tunate enough to study thenm through
their books. You have met them face
to face. Renmenmber and revere these
m:en, be loyal !
No man succeeds by his own might.
If you would be loved, love. If you
would have friends, be a friend your-
self. If you would have Michigan's
blessings, bless Jlichigan.
If you would live a big, genuine, wor-
thy life, be loyal!

a ynisconception.
The alumni are not Michigan's oppo-
nents: They are a part of Michigan,
as much as is the present team. There
is no cause to jeer or scoff. The stu-
dent body is not showing any loyalty
to the present team by scoffing at the
alumni. There is onl~y a lack of ap-
preciation for the returned alumni.i
Divide your support and your en-I
couragement. The alumni are to be
encouraged, not discouraged, for stag-'
ing this friendly battle.
